Grab your tube, float, kayak, canoe or SUP and join us as part of Union City’s Three Day Sesquicentennial Free Fest as we cut the ribbon on the Union City Heritage Water Trail extending from the JP Palmer Launch on the Coldwater River through the Village on the St Joe, onward across Union Lake to the new portage at Riley Dam. Twenty eight sites marked with historical photos and information along the five mile paddle will bring you along on the rich river heritage and the founding of this town named for the “Union” of the Coldwater River and the St. Joe River. There will be several designated take out places from short tube floats through the village to the full length of the trail ending at Riley Dam. Shuttle sevice for vehicle spotting at your preferred take out prior to the launch will be offered free of charge. This event is free and no preregistration is necessary.
